Swallowing Disorders

Like most writers, I have a day job. I work as a speech pathologist under the name S.G. Garbin. This book stems from years of watching caregivers struggle to help loved ones who have lost their ability to eat and drink safely following a stroke or the development of other neurological conditions or in the face of cognitive impairment. Swallowing Disorders (also known as dysphagia) is a reference guide that offers in depth information on chewing and swallowing function in both normal and impaired elders. Included in the book are signs and symptoms of dysphagia as well as what can be done to manage it.

If you’re struggling to understand dysphagia (swallowing disorders), you’re not alone.  Swallowing Disorders offers detailed information about this condition that affects millions of people world-wide.  Maybe it can help you and your loved one, too.
